At Market Street we are committed to meeting the unique needs of our residents requiring memory care. We recognize that the care of our residents will need to be customized, not only for each resident, but on a daily basis as each moment offers new experiences.
Our Individualized Service Plans (ISP) are designed to not only offer residents structure and routine but accommodate day to day changes in care needs. We focus on a holistic approach to resident care, nurturing the distinct needs of the mind, body and spirit throughout the aging process. Through extensive research and experience we understand the unique stages an individual with Alzheimer’s or other dementias encounters. We also recognize there is no cookie-cutter approach to meeting the needs of residents as they encounter these stages.
We regularly adjust the ISP, providing the most current information to our highly trained care team regarding changes in resident needs. This offers peace of mind that the one you love is well cared for in an environment dedicated to quality of life.
Residents are offered daily fitness programs to improve both physical fitness and mental acuity. Classes will be held throughout Market Street in order to maximize the environment. Practices are modified based on residents ability and include a wide range of programs.
Our residents have access to the nation’s leading fitness program and instructors who are certified in fitness and kinesiology.
Tai Chi and Qigong are gentle forms of Chinese martial arts that combine physical movements and meditation while improving balance and health. The movements
concentrate on a series of exercises to positively affect the mind, body and spirit.
In its design, gardening offers physical activity, social interaction and provides opportunity for achievement, reminiscence and enjoyment. Residents cultivate their very own herb and flower gardens. Colorful raised gardens can be enjoyed in the market place or beautifully presented on the dining room tables as center pieces.
Residents are offered sessions to improve overall physical strength. Hand weights,
elastic tubing, bands and seated exercise are incorporated into the fitness calendar.
Yoga has a profound impact on individuals with dementia. Yoga sessions include the combination of group discussion, stretching, bending and breathing exercises.
