Mary’s venture into senior living began in high school with her first job being in her home town nursing home. Disappointed by the care and treatment of the elderly in the 80’s, Mary left her home town to attend the University of Central Florida and graduated with a BS in Business Administration.

After graduation, Mary immediately went to work for GE Financial Assurance who later relocated her to Richmond, Virginia. She obtained a GE Everest Award for saving the company 1.2 Million dollars in contractual advertising and was chosen to become one of Jack Welch’s first recipients of the Six Sigma Black Belt in an intangible industry. She also worked for such companies as Capital One and Computer Associates.

Anxious to return to her home state so her two boys could get to know their grandparents, Mary took her Dad’s Real Estate company and enlarged it to include real estate, mortgage and property management. In 2007, Mary managed a housing inventory of over 300 homes when her father suddenly passed away. She sold the brokerage later that year.

After a brief time off, Mary was offered the opportunity to manage an assisted living in Casselbery, FL. This is where she truly found her calling after finding that senior care had improved since the 80’s. She became the Regional Director of Central Florida for FALA (Florida Assisted Living Association) and lobbied for the improvement of state senior laws in congress, all the while continuing to improve the care, ambiance and entertainment of senior living while providing for a financially thriving environment for the investor.

Mary lives in central Florida with her husband. Her one son is happily married and the other a freshman at the University of South Florida.

Mary chose to work for Watercrest Senior Living Group because her goals aligned with the company’s mission and core values.
