Kerry’s career in senior living began in 2004 when she worked in a support role in the acquisitions and financing group at Sunrise Senior Living. Since then, Kerry has built a unique resume that includes developing and executing capital investment strategies, asset management, and senior level operations leadership. After spending three years on the investment side of the industry, Kerry realized that she missed the fulfillment of working in senior living management, and joined Senior Lifestyle as the VP of Strategic Operations in 2016. There, Kerry was able to use her experience as both an investor and an operator to drive strategic repositionings and ultimately oversee a large and complex portfolio of senior living communities.

Kerry is driven by the complexity and challenge of the senior living industry, and thrives in finding ways to maximize performance through leveraging the strengths of the team to achieve extraordinary results. “I am attracted to Watercrest’s philosophy that our collective core values determine our collective success. I believe in a collaborative and non-hierarchical leadership model, where everyone can (and must) contribute in a trusting and open environment in order to reach our goals.”

Kerry’s passion lies in mentoring and coaching associates, and helping them uncover and develop their own strengths and talents. She leads from a place of vulnerability and service to others, and believes that providing people the correct tools – a ladder to help them rise up, rather than a hammer to push them down – is the key to helping people realize their true potential. Kerry is an authentic leader, and invites and encourages others to be open and honest, direct and transparent, and above all, true to themselves.

Kerry graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University with a BA in History. She lives in Virginia with her mom, Sally, and her two boys, Jack and Evan. Kerry loves to cook and entertain friends, travel, watch live music, and spend time with her family.
